BIOGRAPHY
Sakina Mas is a certified Mindfulness-Based Cancer Recovery (MBCR) facilitator whose work is grounded in mindfulness, compassion, and evidence-informed approaches to well-being. As a breast cancer survivor, she brings both lived experience and professional expertise to supporting individuals affected by cancer.
Her training includes certification in MBCR, Lifestyle and Wellness Coaching through Harvard Medical School, positive psychology, compassion-based interventions, and applied mindfulness. She offers MBCR programs in both French and English throughout Québec and the National Capital Region (Ottawa–Gatineau) in Canada.
Since 2019, Sakina has served as a peer mentor for patients and caregivers, accompanying people through treatment, recovery, and life beyond cancer. Her own journey reinforced her belief that mindfulness and compassion can be powerful resources for navigating uncertainty, fostering resilience, and reconnecting with a sense of meaning and well-being.
Sakina is passionate about making evidence-based mindfulness programs like MBCR, accessible to people affected by cancer and creating supportive spaces where patients and caregivers can cultivate greater self-compassion, resilience, and quality of life.
